Sister sites have an established company connection. Similar sites are compared because of their products. A direct operating-company relationship, a wider parent group and a comparable experience should be explained separately.
A direct operating-company connection
The clearest starting point is the company providing the relevant service. Match its name in the exact site’s terms with the regulator’s record and any operator statement naming the connected brands.
For example, the LeoVegas Gaming PLC domain record lists the six UK domains examined in our BetMGM article. The operating-company connection can be checked against the terms, rather than inferred from similar pages.
That answers who operates the brands. Product differences and customer consequences still require separate investigation.
A wider group connection
A parent group can contain more than one operating company. The useful explanation identifies both levels, so the reader can tell whether two brands share the actual service provider or a more distant corporate relationship.
This is why a global group’s brand page is a research starting point rather than a complete answer for every market. It may combine brands with different geographical coverage and different account arrangements.
“Same operator” and “same wider group” describe different relationships. Using the same label for both hides information that can matter to the reader.
Similar products, without an established company link
A similar-site comparison starts from what the reader values: a particular game format, bingo-room browsing, a live-casino route or a useful account feature. The article should explain why each comparison belongs.
The presence of the same game provider, payment method or page design does not establish common ownership. Those observations can help compare the products, but they cannot substantiate a sister-site claim.
If research establishes that a brand has no other sister brands, a product-led comparison may be the useful next step. An unsuccessful search alone is not enough to make that conclusion.
Check the connection before applying an account rule
First identify the exact website and market. Read the operating company named in its terms, then compare it with the other brand’s terms and the relevant regulator record. If the connection is through a parent group, keep both operating companies visible in your comparison.
Next, find the rule for the action you want to understand. A shared parent company does not establish a shared login, balance or promotion entitlement. Our guide to accounts and shared rules separates those questions.
If the connection is only a product similarity, compare the feature that matters to you on its own terms. A familiar game or interface is not a reason to carry account assumptions from one brand to another.
Your questions, answered
Does using the same game provider make two casinos sisters?
No. It establishes a product similarity, not common ownership. The company relationship needs its own evidence.
Is a casino tab a separate sister brand?
Not automatically. A casino, sportsbook or bingo tab can be part of one service. The brand and account structure need to be established before treating tabs as separate sites.
Can a similar-site article still mention ownership?
Yes, when it helps explain the comparison. The article should make clear whether each relationship is established or whether the connection is only a product match.
